7th and 8th Grade Social Studies

Hello! As a graduate from Maryville College with a Bachelor's in History and teaching licensure training, I've had the opportunity to share the history of our nation to SJHS's 8th graders for four years as well as world history to our school's 7th graders for one year.  My classes are meant to discourage students from seeing history as memorization of disparate trivia. While hard facts are important, students are encouraged to look for the larger picture and see how parts of the curriculum are connected as we seek to analyze and evaluate the influence of the past on the present and future.  This is going to be a great year!
